Consider the Clark County Historical Society as your research center when you need to do genealogical research. Contact the Library directly with any questions relating to available resources.
Library and Archives Use and Service Fees
1. Walk-in researchers may use the library and archives for $4.00 per day, per person. With Student ID, the fee is $2.00 per person, per day. This fee is waived for members of the Historical Society and Genealogical Society.
2. The price of photocopies is $ .20 per page for standard and legal-size copies. Ledger-size copies are $ .30 per page. Microfilm reader/printer copies are $ .20 per page.
3. Research requests completed by Archives staff or volunteers are subject to a research fee of $15.00 per hour (minimum one hour). This fee applies to all requests received by mail, email, phone, or communicated in person. This fee will be reduced to $10.00 for members of the Historical Society.
4. We offer a full range of digital copying services, including scanning, color printing, CD burning, etc. These services can only be used to copy materials from the library and archives.
Clark County Genealogical Society A Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society
The office of the Clark County Genealogical Society is located on the third floor of the Clark County Heritage Center within the Fisher Family Library and Archives. Join Meetings are held the second Saturday of the month at 11:30 a.m. at the Park Shopping Center Branch of the Clark County Public Library at 1119 Bechtle Avenue, Springfield, Ohio. All meetings are open to the public. At meetings you can find out about becoming a member of the Genealogical Society or a member of the First Families and/or Settlers of Clark County. The yearly membership fee is $12.00 for one person or $15.00 for a family membership.
Resources & Research The research library of the Clark County Genealogical Society has been combined with the holdings of the Heritage Center, and is available to researchers.
Resources include a large card file of obituaries, marriages, newspaper clippings regarding veterans, and burials; cemetery readings; surname files; five generation charts; newspaper abstracts for 1829 - 1841; LDS microfiche of documents related to Clark County, and family histories.
The Fisher Family Library and Archives holdings include old newspapers, original wills, biographical information, maps and plat books, photographs, and much, much more.
